This little girl has a very beautiful name… so fitting with the beautiful photos she allowed me to capture her today at just 8 days old. You might remember this maternity session I did last month where I plucked a daisy from my flower bed for mom and sp today, I was sure to bring a little one for her little girl.

I have seen many things during newborn sessions: strong babies, babies with lots of personality, once a baby crawled across the table and once a baby smiled at me while awake (I swear). But this, I’ve never seen: a baby knowingly suck her thumb. She was very aware of where it was and would purposely tried to put it there whenever she got the chance.

This is one of those shots that newborn photographers can rejoice with me in. When you’re in the middle of setting up something else and the baby smiles so you hurry up to snap a photo and pray that you caught it.

She had a beautiful shabby chic dresser and mom even told me about it during the maternity session so I had already had this shot in mind before I arrived.

And finally, I always love a daddy’s girl.

August 23, 2010Brand New
March 15, 2010Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing this little guy with his adoring parents who are smitten with him! He was the perfect little model for me and slept through the entire session and would only stir a bit to let me know that I was interrupting his beauty sleep
This is the relative of a dear high school friend so I’m so thankful again for the opportunity to help capture memories for people I know.
Thank you so much D family. Your little guy is perfect!
Lots of grins for me today!

His most gorgeous mommy.

Right before I left, his little cousins were visiting from out-of-town so I was happy to capture all three of them together for the first time! Happy kids, you think??!! ![]()

Bliss
March 1, 2010Just pure bliss. I love catching a glimpse of what those first few days home with a new baby are like for people… I often wonder if they realize how happy they look, how wonderful it all is.

He was the sweetest baby for me today and I think his cheeks are the cutest things It’s hard sometimes to refrain from not wanting to snuggle with cute babies but I’m always the professional
He definitely had the cuteness and snuggly factors in full effect!

Thank you SO MUCH again S family… I enjoyed every minute!

There’s a new big brother in town
November 9, 2009And these two are as cute as cute can be. I was fortunate enough to meet the E family during the summer to help them celebrate their little boy’s first birthday http://luckyladybugphotography.com/blog/?p=153 and they were kind enough to invite me back to help them celebrate the arrival of their newest little boy! He was so, so sweet for me and took his little old time falling to sleep but once he did, he was putty in my hands! This was also the first session with my new 24-70 f/2.8L lens and wowsas! I immediately notice a creaminess right out of the camera that my other lenses (still very great lenses though) don’t produce.
I think all photographers will agree that the elusive sibling shot and family with new baby and sibling shots are pretty challenging but I did get some keepers! As I went back through them, I said to myself, “OH MY GOSH the baby is actually looking at the camera too! How and when does that ever happen??!!” hahaha!

Here he is with his most beautiful momma! Look at that eye contact!

We had a little help with our friends the goldfish here for this shot so thank you Pepperidge Farm! ![]()
