I could give you a list of about 10 things I love about these photos but suffice it to say, I love everything about them. She nailed the outfit and the snow and the addition of the dog just make these super special. Speaking of special, I can’t wait to meet their baby girl coming soon!

January 30, 2011I have the best clients! If you think you might recognize some familiar faces below, its because I just saw two of them for Christmas mini sessions! I am so fortunate to have such wonderful and loyal clients. I really, really appreciate the opportunity to watch kids grow up!
I can not tell you how much fun these sessions were… throwing flour, the sugar rushes, and all the happy kids…. that’s what Valentine’s Day is all about!
Pretty Little Girl
January 18, 2011It was no surprise to me how pretty this little girl was because when I met her mom a few weeks ago for maternity photographs, she just radiated. This little baby was a wonderful subject for me today, despite being 3 weeks old. I was a little worried I wouldn’t get too many sleepy shots at that age but she went to sleep for me perfectly…. and gave me this shot (a new personal favorite):
I need a Chocolate Lab. Meeting this big sister today confirmed it!
Maddy’s New Room
January 18, 2011Over the holiday break, I really enjoyed the down time but I will admit, I don’t know how to sit still for very long. I have to constantly be working on a project and doing something creative. We’ve been slowly but surely repainting our house (4 years of toddlerhood makes for some icky walls!) and over the holidays, I made Maddy’s room my project. I let her pick out the bedding on overstock.com with me and I promise I didn’t force her into the ladybugs! Its kind of all she knows so it was an easy choice. I painted the walls, my husband added chair railing and I accessorized with all the new colors.
At the beginning of every year, I usually feel like I didn’t take enough photos of Maddy in the last year… so bear with me as I overwhelm you with photos of her. You won’t see much of her in the Spring, Summer and Fall!
I love photographing kids in their rooms. Its comfortable for them and parents don’t often think to do photographs in it. It reminds me of a Pottery Barn catalog (and I love Pottery Barn). I asked Maddy to play in her new room while I observed and this was the result.
Littlest Steeler Fan
January 18, 2011Big Pittsburgh Steeler fans in my house so when I get clients that love football (and the Steelers), it makes for some fun stuff (Go Steelers!!!!) 
This perfect little baby has the most beautiful hair that looked like it was styled so neatly. Just gorgeous! What a dreamy little session this was for me!
11 Days New
January 17, 2011I am not sure how they get any more perfect than this little girl was for me. She was wide awake and happy, then she just let me put her into positions and fell right to sleep. Never uttered a peep. Perfect disposition and very loving parents!

I’m doing things a little differently on the the blog this year because I really want to cut my proofing time down to about 10 days instead of 14. I’m only previewing one or two photos until galleries have been completed and then will follow it up with some more. Its really hard to figure out how to pair things down when I want to take my time and do a great job editing, so I figured the long previews I post were probably not such a great idea considering how much time they take. I know my clients would rather just have their proofs back quicker.
So here we go, let’s see how this works!

Limited Edition Valentine’s Day Mini Sessions
January 5, 2011The holidays came and went so fast and I’ll be honest with you, I’m sad about it. Because it means that my daughter is another year older and time is just flying by these days. Her birthday is Christmas Eve so the holidays are always packed with lots of fun, lots of presents and lots of sappiness on my end!
On her birthday, I took her to the studio to get a few shots. These days, I usually just one one good one of her to give out as an official birthday photo and she gave me this one on the first take.
But, I must say, I am partial to her cheesiness so I printed this one for myself. Happy 4th birthday to my sweet little girl!
I’m ready to start booking the next round of mini sessions to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The studio makes it a perfect place to do these inside so I enlisted her help again. I put this promotion on Facebook yesterday and booked three spots immediately. I have two more left. Contact me ASAP if interested! Sessions to take place on Saturday, Jan 22nd and include the disc of a shortened 20 minute special session with cookies in the kitchen.
