CASTING CALL ANNOUNCEMENT!

December 29, 2009

I’m ready to ring in the New Year with a CASTING CALL available in February 2010!  I like to believe that my photography is natural and capturing children as they are is only fitting to do so in their natural environment, hence my idea for an awesome kids bedroom casting call!

What I’m looking for:  Photographs of kids ages 3-7 who have awesome bedrooms with lots of natural light. Like it came from a Pottery Barn Kids catalog or off the pages of The Land of Nod.  I want to capture kids playing in their rooms with toys, jumping on their bed and reading books.

What I will offer: a FREE session with a free 11×14 mounted print.  Any additional prints may be purchased at regular prices.  The session will take place in February 2010 and will be limited to two sessions only, first come, first serve.  Siblings are welcome.

What this CASTING CALL is not: This is a chance for me to express some creativity during these cold winter months and it will be unlike a regular session where you call all the shots :)   This will not be an opportunity for family shots, but will just be shots of children only.  Younger or older siblings are welcome though for photographs together.

Details:  Please send me a photograph of your child’s room so I can see what kind of natural light it gets in the morning.  I will also need to know your child’s age and boy/girl as well.

You must live within 25 miles of zip code 21701 or 17320 and you must be willing to sign a model release so that I may post them on my website.

These are limited to two offerings only so please don’t delay!

You can send it to sandy@luckyladybugphotography.com

Thank you and Happy New Year!

I hope you have enjoyed 2009 as much as I have.  Here is my year in review, a photograph from each session I did this year, all 80+ of them.

I am very much looking forward to a bright and happy 2010.  Much peace and happiness for you in the new year. Happy Holidays!

Let’s talk for a minute about how it seems that I only photograph beautiful babies. I swear it’s not a requirement but I’m always so amazed at the beautiful families I get to photograph too. How fitting that I get to end 2009 with a sweet girl, born close to Christmas just like my own sweet girl… and so highly anticipated too, it brings back really warm memories for me!

Here’s a link to their gorgeous maternity session and now you’ll see where this little girl got her good looks from. She was such an angel for me today!

Sweet Baby

December 19, 2009

Remember this happy adorable couple?  They’re even happier now that their sweet adorable baby has arrived!  And he proved to be as determined as ever at just 5 days old not to allow me to take too many photographs of him while interrupting his beauty sleep.  So I went back a few days later and he started out like this…

“I’ve got my eye on you photographer lady.”

And shortly after surrendered to sweet dreams.

Congrats again J & T… he is absolutely perfect!

Well to say I’ve been busy is an understatement but I can almost see the light here… two more newborns to go this month and then I’ll be off until the first week of January, or until another little baby is born!  Look for an end of the year slideshow coming from me next week as a way to wrap-up this awesome year!

I’ve slowly been working on adding some new products to my offerings for 2010 and tweaking some old ones.  I’ve recently added collections as a great way to save off of ala carte prices and I’m really excited to also be able to offer something fun and artistic for your walls.

These Fine Art Trios are offered in either canvas gallery wraps or gallery mounts and are offered in two sizes, 10×10 and 16×16 and the colors can be customized to match your decor.

Two Sweet Boys

December 16, 2009

The dad of these two sweet boys contacted me to do this as a Christmas gift for his wife… how awesome is he??!! When I walked into their home, I immediately saw a gorgeous print of the oldest brother here and when the mom told me that a really well-known photographer in Baltimore took it (okay well known internationally is more like it!), I felt the pressure, hahaha! But, I couldn’t have asked for a better pair of subjects today. Oldest brother gave me all sorts of wonderful expressions and his new baby brother slept so sweetly and soundly. We didn’t do any family shots so it gave me the opportunity to get in a lot of shots of the two of them…. like this one here. The elusive sibling shot!

Snow Day at the Tree Farm

December 10, 2009

I swear I’ve had dreams of photographing in the snow with a red sofa forever now. As my awesome luck would have it, it snowed the day of my planned mini-session day at Clemsonville Tree Farm. Photographing in the snow had some interesting challenges (besides the obvious being very cold!) and I was really thankful that I brought along two assistants, one of whom held an umbrella over my head for most of the day, and for helping with the sofa. Thank you Kim & Erica! And even though only one family actualy cut down a tree, the results from all of the sessions are among some of my most favorite photographs. I continued the next day with two more sessions, one family who had a sweet baby and the wet snow the day before was not so great as the day wore on so I was happy to come back, and it gave me the opportunity to get in one more session there too.

Thank you to all who helped me realize a dream come true!

Miracle Baby

December 8, 2009

I like to think that every newborn I photograph is special and so very loved, and truly a miracle in their own way. This little guy sure belongs on that list of mine. His parents love him oh so very much and are just so happy to have him…. goodness I love that!

Welcome baby M to the world… we are so happy to have you here too!

His daddy’s nickname is Moose and well, I just love this shot so much more for that reason.

This shot is part of the new Similac ad so props to Jodie Otte for doing it so well and having many parents tear it out hoping their photographer can duplicate it :)

And finally, shot I’ve wanted to do for a while and well, like I said, dad’s nickname is Moose for a reason. I remember him from high school as a football player and maybe one day, his little guy will be able to put this one in his own football hall of fame.

4 months old already

December 8, 2009

This pretty little baby is already 4 months old and goodness I love being able to come back and watch personalities start to blossom. She has the sweetest smile and would turn away bashfully after she’d smile… it was enough to make my heart sing everytime :)

Here are just a few favorites… I’m going to try to keep things short this week to get in all the sneak peeks and session galleries that I can in time for the holidays. I did two regular sessions this weekend and 5 minis. That’s more sessions than I do sometimes in an entire month! Okay, back to miss beautiful, drool and all
