Brand New!

November 25, 2009

I met this beautiful baby girl and her big brother and sister over the weekend. I know mom has been waiting patiently for a sneak peek and I do apologize for the delay but it’s holiday crunch time here at Lucky Ladybug Photography. I’ve been busier these last 3 months than the whole rest of the year together! Add holiday card designing, album layouts and magazine assignments to the mix, and I’m one tired girl.

BUT, having a newborn baby on my schedule makes my world so much happier, and I’m happy to say I have 4 booked for December and several for January already! I’ve had a great excuse to buy even more newborn hats, wraps and other props! Here are a few of my favorites of this beautiful baby who modeled everything so perfectly for me.

Yes, there is a tiny baby butt under that poof!

And as if one beautiful child isn’t cuteness overload, add a gorgeous big sister and handsome brother to the mix and I swear, they are the picture frame family.

… or Santa baby, either will do. Gosh I just adored her!

One of the best things I did this year was revamp my newborn sessions to include a mini-maternity session. I have so enjoyed it and I love getting the chance to meet families before we spend 2-4 hours together during a newborn session :)

This couple is welcoming a baby girl soon and little guy here is going to be an awesome big brother. He really has the most pleasant personality and I can tell his parents love him very much.

Three Months Old!

November 16, 2009

Already! You might remember this littlle guy just three short months ago in his adorable jungle nursery ontop of his girafee… well today I got to photograph him again and see how much he’s grown! At three months, he’s already trying to sit up and is just a smiley happy guy who makes his mommy and daddy very, very happy.

His mommy had the most adorable outfits for him today. You can’t go wrong with Gymboree!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

November 15, 2009

… and he’s definitely make a stop at the P home this year because these two boys have been nothin’ but good (and I think it doesn’t hurt they they already have an “in” with the big man in red himself

I first met this family when I photographed these two adorable boys in the spring and I must say, I was surprised to see how much both of them have changed, almost all grown up already :)

But this time, we also got some really awesome family photographs. It would be a shame not to show off a gorgeous family like this during this holiday season!

My Own Family!

November 12, 2009

Last weekend I set out to accomplish the (almost) impossible… take my own family photos.  I set my camera on a tripod, set-up the shot in the middle of the road in front of my house, convinced my husband to get dressed up and drug a sofa into the road!

Realizing that I needed an extra set of hands, I asked my neighbor to come and press the shutter button for me and I couldn’t be more happier with the results.

I’ve already ordered my Christmas cards :)   Here are a few of my favorites…

And these two are as cute as cute can be.  I was fortunate enough to meet the E family during the summer to help them celebrate their little boy’s first birthday http://luckyladybugphotography.com/blog/?p=153 and they were kind enough to invite me back to help them celebrate the arrival of their newest little boy!   He was so, so sweet for me and took his little old time falling to sleep but once he did, he was putty in my hands!  This was also the first session with my new 24-70 f/2.8L lens and wowsas!  I immediately notice a creaminess right out of the camera that my other lenses (still very great lenses though) don’t produce.

I think all photographers will agree that the elusive sibling shot and family with new baby and sibling shots are pretty challenging but I did get some keepers!  As I went back through them, I said to myself, “OH MY GOSH the baby is actually looking at the camera too!  How and when does that ever happen??!!”  hahaha!

Beautiful Birthday Girl

November 4, 2009

This little girl just celebrated her 3rd birthday and I tell ya what, her adorable Fall outfit and personality just made my day. She was so expressive and just overwhelmed me with her cuteness!

I don’t think it’s any surprise that I love the color red in photographs (and in general!). That’s another reason why I love Catoctin Mountain Orchard in the Fall… oh I’m sooo going to miss you Orchard!

I told her to turn her brothers into frogs here and she happily followed my directions :)

Hmmm, not a traditional favorite for most but I think this one is typical of what I would have enlarged very big in my house. Love the big sister role here and love that little sister is paying such close attention and holding a leaf that matches the beautiful fall background.

Anna – Class of 2010

November 2, 2009

I ended a really awesome day with this beautiful senior and her family… and it’s really no surprise to me why or how she got to be so sweet… she comes from a really loving family and I’m so happy I snapped a few family photos while we were at it :)

So whenever I have a client who can a) follow directions really well, b) smile beautifully on command and c) is willing to let me photograph wherever, like downtown, remote desolate area, etc… then I know it’s a fabulous session!

Arriving Soon!

November 2, 2009

This couple is going to be married for at least the next 50 years, I’m willing to bank on it. They just have this synergy that was really evident from the beginning. Really wonderful personalities and I can’t wait to meet their little baby boy coming very soon.

We met in downtown Frederick today for a mini-maternity session. I’m so glad I restructured my newborn sessions to include a mini-maternity because I LOVE doing maternity sessions. Everyone’s always soooo happy :)

It’s not always the case where Carroll Creek is bare but today, they just seemed to own it… and the beautiful golden light matched the golden leaves and the beautiful momma to be.
