Beautiful Girls

August 31, 2009

All four of them! This morning, I spent the morning with these two little girls who are cousins and only two months apart along with their wonderful moms… what a great idea for a photo session! The weather was fantastic out today too and these girls had the full out cuteness factor going on in every shot. Here are just a few of my favorites!

I think this one is my favorite of the day actually. At this age, little ones are still so independent and really just parallel play and their curiousity here and the same poses they have going on just melt my heart. And the lighting just makes them radiate!

Is it Spring Yet?

August 28, 2009

While I really am looking forward to photographing everyone this Fall with the beautiful fall foliage in our area, I am excited about some changes coming to my own outdoor property this Spring. My favorite types of outdoor photographs to take are those that I can include some of the landscape in. I have a lot of favorite locations in the areas but ever since I saw this gorgeous sunflower field in Gettysburg last year, I’ve been on the lookout for something similar… and there’s nothing around here that I know of. That field was like a fairytale and I’m sad to hear that they didn’t plant it again this year (maybe next year???!).Field editweb

We are fortunate to own about 2+ acres in the woods (we do have few houses around us but for the most part, it’s pretty peaceful) and the backside of our property has a little stream running through it. My husband has been busily building a bridge to connect both sides and will hopefull be finished by this spring. And I am planting a small field of Red Poppies this Fall back there to use in photographs. If my green thumb serves me well, they’ll be ready by spring. I can’t wait.

I have a long wish list too that I hope we can at least start on by Springtime, a clubhouse, a tireswing and all things childhood related… I wonder if my husband is reading this?!!! :)

As you might know, I’m proud to have a working relationship with Adams County’s beautiful lifestyle magazine, Celebrate Gettysurg. I was honored to be able to photograph this lady and her cancer boutique in Hanover, PA. Class of 2010 – Kirsten

August 24, 2009

Hmmmm, not even sure how to pick favorites here to preview. They are all so beautiful thanks to my beautiful subject who is beginning her senior year in 2 days! She’s going places too and you just might see her very soon on television. In fact, with her sweet disposition and beauty, I’m willing to bet you will be.

The sun was very golden this evening, casting a sun-kissed look and the clouds were really cool. We met up at my favorite place, Catoctin Mt. Orchard and as always, it proves to be the most gorgeous scenery!

My girl

August 22, 2009

It’s been a long time since I took Madeline out for some photos.  I’ve been so busy and am still trying to get caught up but today, I just felt inspired but the gorgeous clouds and my new (to me) orange chair.  I also wanted to find the right photo to print as a metal mount and this is it.

Although I really wanted to frame this one too.   I really couldn’t decide but I finally let Rodney have the final say!

Ahhh, who knows, maybe I’ll order that one as an acrylic mount too :)

Look Who Has Arrived!

August 20, 2009

Remember this beautiful maternity session from last month?  They’re now the proud parents of a gorgeous baby girl and she was a wonderful little subject for me.   Thank you so much R & E for inviting me back to photograph your new family!

This set-up was totally mom and dad’s idea and I really liked the end result!

Their beautiful back yard was the perfect setting for my antique trencher log bowl.

And this sweet shot was dad’s idea since he’s getting ready to retire from his very honorable military career. Thank you for all of your service. You deserve to take it easy for a change and enjoy that beautiful baby :)

This is my first senior session for the Class of 2010 and I have several more coming up including one this weekend… I am very excited about that!   This senior is smart, fun and absolutely a sweetheart.  I loved meeting her and her wonderful family! These shots were all taken at her beautiful house and surrounding property. It just goes to show that for beautiful photographs, sometimes you need to look no further than your own back yard!

Pretty Little Baby

August 18, 2009

I am always amazed at the beautiful hair some newborns are born with… my daughter had hardly any (and STILL doesn’t!). This pretty little angel has some gorgeous hair. She was super sweet for me and her parents just adore her! Thank you so much L family for inviting me over and I can’t wait to watch her grow into a pretty little girl!

My newest prop arrived the day before this session, a baby doll buggy from circa 1930.  When her mom showed me the hankerchef bonnet that her mom had made for her (it converts into a hankie that she can use on her wedding day even!) then I knew this shot was going to be perfect!

Her mom had some really special and sentimental things that she wanted to use in photographs. The outfit that she is wearing was dad’s own christening gown… very cool!

As my luck would also have it, I bought this damask fabric a few days before this session and this happened to be the color scheme of her adorable nursery!

A Fun Summer Morning

August 16, 2009

IMG_3919This morning I met up with the cutest little guy and his family.  He was was such an easy subject for me too.  It really didn’t surprise me too much that every female that walked past him today commented on how cute he was… he was so sweet!  We ended the session as all good summer sessions with toddlers should, with messy ice cream!

Thank you so much R family, it was wonderful meeting you and I hope you enjoy a few of  my favorites!

There is something about this one that I really like. I think even though you can’t see him, his head tilted to the side and his mom’s expression says it all.
