I am so fortunate to have family that own the most beautiful place to photograph at…. the Orchard is my favorite. This is the Black Family and they help make sure that it stays picturesque all year round. The little guy here is the man in charge!
Each year, his daddy puts up the huge pumpkin pyramid you can see visible from RT 15.
How cool is it to grow up on a farm? Maybe not the part where they work from sun up until way past sundown! It is not uncommon to see Chris mowing at 11pm at night and then right back at it at 6am.
Eat fresh fruit daily for better health!

July 8, 2011This little baby is actually my second cousin and I am so in love with her! Love her smile, her two little dimples, her pudgey little cheeks and feet, and can’t wait to watch her grow. I’m very proud of my cousin and his wife… and thrilled to be able to do these photographs for them. I don’t always get to do a lot of pictures for my family and friends as I’d like because I stay too busy so it really takes an effort to carve out time unfortunately. I am going to try to do better with that from now on! Hopefully you’ll see her again when she starts sitting up (I love that age!)
This sneak peek is going to be extra long because hey, they’re family and hey, because I can.

She came to my studio today full of smiles and pretty clothes! Oh and cupcakes… and of course she knew exactly what to do with them!
Happy Birthday Little Brother
May 3, 2011I am so blessed to have a studio in Emmitsburg, MD. The town has been very welcoming to me and when this mom contacted me to book this session in her hometown here, I knew it was going to be a special place for her too. She brought along this ride along fire truck and had the idea to photograph her little birthday boy in front of the firehouse. I asked them if they didn’t mind lifting the garage doors for a shot and they went out of their way to give the boys an impromptu, private tour of the fire engine too! It is truly special being able to photograph in such a small, pretty town.
This is my 3rd time photographing this little guy and 4th time photographing his big brother—I still think I am the luckiest person in the world to get to document kids growing up before my very eyes!
These dimples are seriously world famous!
I am going to just specialize in happy babies and kids from now on!
Welcome Spring!
April 9, 2011Thank you Lord for beautiful weather finally and a beautiful family to kick off my outdoor picture weather. I’ve been loving shooting in the studio but I’m going to say it outloud, I LOVE photographing outside! There is nothing quite like warm sunlight in a photograph! Okay, maybe a little bit of seasonal affectiveness disorder going on too for me but wow oh wow, what a great outdoor session does for my energy levels!
I got to photograph this little babe when he was first born and I got to know mom well (she is a very talented hair stylist and make-up artist whose work I also adore) and I just enjoy her children so much. They rocked my camera! Yesterday was their 4-year wedding anniversary and sweet baby boy is turning 1 year old. I found this field of daffodils at a random place and at the last minute, changed the location to here. We had to climb up a hill and through some brush to get there and the location has three sides of a highway and parking lot, but… these pictures speak for themselves.
She prepaid for the CD so I posted a TON on my Facebook fanpage… go over and have a looksee!

February 19, 2011I love this age!!! I also love photographing babies in their home, especially the nursery. I really enjoyed this session today with this little guy and his family and I adored his gummy smile, big blue eyes and grins that light up a room. I have sooooo MANY favorites. Birthday Girl
February 6, 2011This morning I woke up and just felt it was going to be a great session. I love this age and love being able to use the studio for what I call, this clean and modern look. When I get clients who love that and pick classic clothing for their children, well I just love that even more. This beauty is going to be one soon and she was in such a great little mood this morning. Her big brother was along for some shots as well and I loved being able to go outside with him.
I’m going to preview just one for right now… I’m getting ready for the big Superbowl showdown (Go Steelers!) and I want to do this preview justice since they turned out so fabulously. So check back tomorrow night!
Even though she was smiley for 95% of the shots, I love her little pose here!

December 20, 2010I can not express my thanks enough for the most amazing year of my career. Photography has changed my heart and soul and for that, I am a better person. It is a blessing and an honor to photograph the most precious gifts people have and to be trusted with it. Thank you to everyone who let me be a part of that.
