Another awesome new product…. acrylic mounts. A piece of acrylic printed with your favorite photograph and mounted with 4 silver and very modern brackets. Because I hung this in my in-home studio, I also included some photos of the room below.

I don’t prefer studio work so I don’t offer it for anything but newborns. I would much rather be in someone’s home or a more natural environment with older children and families but with newborns, it’s really nice to have studio space available in my home. Remember, as an incentive to use the space (because I don’t have to lug around my stuff! :) ) I offer a $125 off the session fee for studio newborn sessions. Pay no attention to my jampacked prop closet! ;)

Float Wraps

May 22, 2010

I’m really excited to offer Float Wraps to my product offerings, I have them displayed in my home and took some photographs today to show you how gorgeous they are. And the best part about them is that they are more affordable than canvas gallery wraps (which I still offer and love of course!).

This set I’ve displayed here is of Madeline in the metallic float wrap. Metallic has a shiny metallic-like surface and while it won’t work with every single photograph, it makes black and whites look pretty sleek and modern. The float wrap is just wrapped around a mounted surface and then there is a foam block that displays it “floating” against the wall. This is a set of 4-8×10s that I have mounted with 3M Command Strips! That’s how light they are.

This next one is the canvas finish float wrap and it is a size 18×24. The color here is amazing and is in my opinion, comparable to the amazing rich color that you get on a gallery-wrapped canvas. This hangs at the entrance of my house at the door and has a lustre finish for protection. The surface is a canvas material and it again, floats away from the wall but this one is pretty large and is hung with a wall screw.

While I can’t take these on-location with me to sessions, you’re always welcome to stop by and see them in person!

Slideshow DVDs

May 9, 2010

As an incentive item, a DVD slideshow with music of your photos is now available when you spend $700 or more on a collection or products.

Check out this recent gorgeous maternity/newborn combination!

Family Photographs

April 26, 2010

Just wanted to make a special blog posting about how important I believe family photographs are. Whenever I want to remember how happy my childhood was, I pull out my family photographs. Whenever I want to remember how great my mom and dad were, I pull out my family photographs. With each and every session, I encourage family interactions. If you book a session for your child’s first birthday, I’ll focus on your child, but will still attempt to capture some interactions with family members present. Stop worrying about those last few pounds you have to lose (your children don’t care!) and stop worrying about how your shirt looks (I’ll tell you if you’re showing something you shouldn’t). Just relax, be yourselves and enjoy your family.

Here’s a great example of this family who did it very well. They just trusted me to guide them into set-ups, they focused on each other and their child, and the rest came naturally. No stiff poses, no awkward expressions. Just realness :) So what to do with all those photos anyway? Why not do a collage on a gallery mount?

And of course I can do one with just the star of the photographs as well!

Well to say I’ve been busy is an understatement but I can almost see the light here… two more newborns to go this month and then I’ll be off until the first week of January, or until another little baby is born!  Look for an end of the year slideshow coming from me next week as a way to wrap-up this awesome year!

I’ve slowly been working on adding some new products to my offerings for 2010 and tweaking some old ones.  I’ve recently added collections as a great way to save off of ala carte prices and I’m really excited to also be able to offer something fun and artistic for your walls.

These Fine Art Trios are offered in either canvas gallery wraps or gallery mounts and are offered in two sizes, 10×10 and 16×16 and the colors can be customized to match your decor.

Storyboards

May 26, 2009

It’s been a while since I shared a storyboard layout and I really liked how this one turned out so I thought today would be a good day for a product share. Storyboards and collages are the perfect way to combine a group of your favorite photos, without taking up a lot of wall space. This is an example of a 16×20 and of course, wording and layouts can all be customized. Sometimes I’ll add a special quote, a definition, or no words at all but here, just one words sums everything up quite nicely. My favorite way to mount these is to have them gallery-mounted. Ask me to see my sample!

Happy Memorial Day to those who have served and to those who are currently serving…and a special shout out to my ex-fellow Army Reserve soldiers from the 356th BPAD at Fort Meade!

New Product

March 30, 2009
I’m happy to offer gallery-mounted prints and storyboards now with every session. Any size can be gallery-mounted with your choice of a white or black beveled edge and they come with a protective matte finish and are ready to hang.

I have a 12×12 print example shown here along with a 10×20 storyboard. The storyboard is actually now displayed on an easel in front of my fireplace and the print is resting against the mirror on my mantle, but either could be hung on the wall as you can see in the last paragraph. I love the high-quality look and feel they provide!

Storyboards

February 13, 2009

I have been on a new product kick lately and excited to show you some of my new offerings.

For now,I’ll start out with some photos I’ve been meaning to put up of the storyboards I offer mounted to styrene. There are two examples here of how I display them. The first is in my daughter’s room above her bed. I just punched a hole through the styrene and hung with a ribbon and the second is simple enough, just lean them up against a shelf. What I like about these most is that you don’t have to frame them this way if you don’t want to but… since they are protected with a lustre finish, you could just frame them with a wooden frame, no glass and be done with it.
Simple enough. Just the way I like it.

Check back this weekend for more product photos I am excited to introduce… and a newborn baby session coming up on Sunday!
