This mom-to-be said she didn’t know if she believed in all the pregnancy glow stuff… so I’m going to submit this next photo as evidence:

I met this couple at their home this evening on one of these crazy 100 degree days. I can only imagine what that must feel like being pregnant! We started inside their beautiful home so that I could set-up some “before” shots and they’re all beautiful, trust me (and maybe you’ll see a few when baby makes an appearance). But the ones I’m previewing are outside because it won’t be too much longer that I can take advantage of summery, warm, evening sunlight that you see in these photographs. And it was wonderful… almost as much as they are together. But not quite. ![]()

Glow
September 3, 2010Coming Soon!
August 4, 2010A sweet little baby is coming very soon for this happy couple! I met them at Berrywine Plantations at Linganore Winecellars and wow, the scenery there is just gorgeous. I love photographing couples together for maternity sessions and I’m just as much about the experience as I am the photographs. In a beautiful and tranquil setting like the vineyard, I remind them to just take in the fresh air, breathe for a moment and enjoy these last few weeks as expecting parents together, to love one another and be reminded of how much they love each other.

Happy Anniversary!
July 12, 2010These parents-to-be celebrated their wedding anniversary with some maternity photos near my house in Fairfield, PA. I lugged my sofa out to the road in front of my house because I LOVE it there, and then convinced them to do some field shots with me… they gave me complete creative control over these photographs and I’m thrilled with the results. Classic, timeless and beautiful. Can’t wait to meet their baby girl coming soon!

Family of 4.5
July 5, 2010I love when maternity sessions are very much family sessions all the same. It’s pretty special to be able to remember family life before a new little one adds so much more than one ever dreamed possible. Cool stuff!
So these two little boys are getting a little sister very soon. And the oldest brother already knows how to be an awesome big brother. I’m pretty sure the little brother will follow just the same.

Coming Soon
April 24, 2010…a sweet little girl to this very happy couple!
I love maternity sessions, in the spring, summer, winter and Fall. I really just love them. Then I sit on the edge of my seat until baby arrives and am over the moon happy for the parents. I can’t wait to meet this little baby soon.
I’ve been noticing the weeds on the sides of the roads lately and have been itching to photograph in them (my husband says “They’re WEEDS Sandy…” but to me, it’s a gorgeous field of yellow wildflowers). This beautiful mom-to-be just glowed in the flowers, orchard and golden sun that was just perfect today.

New Life
April 12, 2010Goodness I’m so behind things lately, especially blogging! Are you a Facebook fan? Check it out over there if you are and stay up-to-date with the latest news there too! So a lot has happened since my last post… like gorgeous Spring color breathing new life into everything around us!
Last weekend (Happy belated Easter by the way!), the peach blossoms at the orchard were in and it was the most beautiful setting for a mini-maternity session with a gorgeous mommy and her son. I can’t wait to meet baby K coming soon.

A love story
February 24, 2010This was such a sweet session! This couple met at Ski Liberty where they both worked, got engaged there, had their reception there and today, helped celebrate the next chapter in their lives with me there.
I have come to the conclusion that I absolutely have the most beautiful and nicest clients ever. Period. Don’t anyone try to top that! ha!
When she booked this with me and told me that story, I immediately had imagined shots on the lift only to hang-up and remember that I’m afraid of ski lifts and heights in general! But, it was great and maybe just maybe my fears have been conquered?!!

And I asked if we could go to the spot where he proposed and little did I know how absolutely gorgeous it was going to be there!

This is inside the beautiful Boulder Ridge lodge
I can’t wait to meet baby M!

Beautiful
February 21, 2010I might be one of a handful of people out there who actually gets really, really excited for snow. Yes, even 4 feet of it! I think it’s magical and adds that special something to a photo so when people contact me wanting photographs outside in the winter, I always hope for snow! This mommy is expecting her 2nd baby soon and she is as sweet as she is beautiful. Naturally, that makes my job easier! It was cold but she didn’t complain (although I’m pretty sure she was glad it was just a little mini-maternity session!), she just kept on giving me her happy smiles and pretty dimples and I’m so happy with the the results!
Can’t wait to meet both kids coming soon!
Catoctin Mountain Orchard is one of my favorites of course because it doesn’t matter what time of year it is there, it’s always beautiful. And did I mention recently that my husband’s family takes awesome care of it and takes so pride in what they do, so I know it’s always well taken care of!

I love the way knit fabrics catch the wind, showing a round and beautiful belly!

I LOVE love.
February 8, 2010I mean, I love the real thing. Love that you can see in a photo… and I can see it all over these.
When this beautiful mom contacted me for the maternity/newborn session, she said she really wanted to capture the love the 3-1/2 of them have for each other, rather than focusing on a lot of maternity shots of herself, but little did she know how easy they would make my job. Their home was like a ready-made studio for me, huge windows with tons of beautiful light and I think I might just be doing all my sessions there from now on… ha! Kidding… sort of
This little girl was so much fun for me today and kept me playing all morning!

See… they aren’t pretending!

Mom said she wanted to remember her little girl with her most precious blankie. It’s the little things that we all soon forget sometimes.

This reminds me of a favorite family photo of my own that I used for my Christmas cards this year.

She has the most beautiful room and mom had the pettiskirt waiting…I think I did a cartwheel.

A new favorite of mine for sure.

Winter Mini-Maternity Session
January 11, 2010First of all, a HUGE thank you to these wonderful parents-to-be for driving so far to meet me outside yesterday in the 20 degree cold and for not complaining at all! It WAS definitely cold but they were so happy to be together and anticipating their little one coming soon. I really love snow (I must have said it 10 times!) so much so that I planned my December wedding in hopes that I would get some, and we did! It always adds a little magic to photos. Any way, I digress here… I can’t wait to meet this little one arriving soon and I’ll be looking forward to hanging out with mom and dad again who kept me laughing the entire time!
My favorite of the day. This little courtyard with snow was pretty much untouched and I loved the privacy it gave us.
Come for a winter session with a chic hat, scarf mittens and I am a happy photographer. Who says maternity sessions downtown in the snowy winter isn’t gorgeous?? I love it!

This is a special hand knitted blanket for baby that I can’t wait to do an after shot with!
