This little girl has a very beautiful name… so fitting with the beautiful photos she allowed me to capture her today at just 8 days old. You might remember this maternity session I did last month where I plucked a daisy from my flower bed for mom and sp today, I was sure to bring a little one for her little girl.

I have seen many things during newborn sessions: strong babies, babies with lots of personality, once a baby crawled across the table and once a baby smiled at me while awake (I swear). But this, I’ve never seen: a baby knowingly suck her thumb. She was very aware of where it was and would purposely tried to put it there whenever she got the chance.

This is one of those shots that newborn photographers can rejoice with me in. When you’re in the middle of setting up something else and the baby smiles so you hurry up to snap a photo and pray that you caught it.

She had a beautiful shabby chic dresser and mom even told me about it during the maternity session so I had already had this shot in mind before I arrived.

And finally, I always love a daddy’s girl.

August 23, 2010It’s a Girl!
August 9, 2010My maternity clients from a few weeks ago welcomed a beautiful baby girl who was only 8 days old when I got to meet her. I said it with the last set of photos of them but this family is so loving and these boys are going to be the best big brothers this little girl could know. They already dote on her and can’t get enough of her. For good reason of course—she is precious!

We used this fabric for a belly shot with mom during her maternity session:

Perfect
July 23, 2010This little guy was a dream. Not only is he just perfect looking, he’s already got the most laid-back personality… and so smiley! I could’ve definitely have photographed him all day.
When mom booked this session with me, I could not wait to do this shot! I have too many of these as favorites, it was hard to pick just one to preview.

Oh how I love tiny sweet babies with knitted hats. ![]()

“Hmmm… yes, yes, I think I DO like it here!”

Pronounced braTISHka means “little brother”
July 20, 2010I met the cutest pair today…. a beautiful, red-headed little girl (you know how I love those!) and her little brother that she adores. He was perfect for me today and these two made my morning with these overwhelmingly sweet photographs.
Hopefully google didn’t let me down with the Russian translation!

Little Sweetheart
July 18, 2010This little beauty was so wonderful for me today. I told you I have the best and most beautiful little clients!

Then when I get beautiful and wonderful parents to go with it, my job is really quite easy. In fact, I’m pretty sure it’s the best job in the world.

It was a scorching 100 degrees today but their backyard had lots of nice shade and a cool little breeze flowing through made for the perfect outdoor setting.

Pretty Baby
July 18, 2010Today was the beginning of my newborn rush… I have a ton of babies coming up, all born at the same time. Scheduling is kind of funny when it comes to newborn babies. Try telling them what day they’re scheduled to be born!
I couldn’t have started off with a more perfect little subject than this sweetheart.

Love how beautiful and peaceful this shot is.

I also love when my clients have great hats!

Used my 100mm f/2.8 macro lens here. I love the little details this lens produces, like all her little eyelashes!

I’ve been on a vintage kick lately… so I like to throw in a few here and there. ![]()

Perfect Princess
June 9, 2010She’s here! Remember this beautiful mom-to-be? They’ve recently welcomed a perfect baby girl and I do mean perfect…she was a doll for me!

It was quite special watching the three of them together… they really never took their eyes off of their beautiful daughter for very long. Simply smitten.

Raise your hand if you’re happy to be here!

And finally… this adorable headband and tutu was purchased by her momma long before she arrived… she knew what she wanted and she had the perfect baby to go with it!

12 Days Old
May 11, 2010What a sweet way to spend my Mother’s Day morning…. and what a sweet gift this little guy was for his mommy on Mother’s Day! When I asked him how he felt about that, this is the response I got:

Okay, not really but you can imagine that’s what he was thinking.
And I have never, ever seen a newborn baby smile while awake at his mommy… but he just looked right up and her and did this. See, I told you he was happy to be here.

He’s a big boy and fit so snug in my props, but so relaxed and cozy in there. He gave me some great eye contact!

Big brother was not feeling so swell so we had to forgo the sibling shot for now. What a cute pair of boys these two make!

Happy belated mother’s day to all of my readers! This, my friends, is the reason for the season.

Miracle Baby
April 19, 2010It never ceases to amaze how this job allows me to meet such really wonderful people. I get to hear the most inspiring stories sometimes of birth, pregnancy, love and life. I am truly blessed.
And so is this beautiful mom with her adoring husband and the newest big sister in town. This little guy was a photographer’s dream today and I’m so fortunate that they asked me to capture them for the first time as a family of 4.

This little girl wow’d me today with her impressive vocabulary!

M family +1
April 13, 2010Remember this little ski love story I shared with you a few weeks ago? Now they’re +1 with a beautiful baby boy who was as sweet as sweet could be for me today.
As is the case with each session, I end up having a favorite photograph that I add to my list of all-time favorites. I really love this shot ![]()

I really love this one too because of how comfortable he looks so snug in his mommy’s snowflake scarf. She wore one to her maternity session and I really wanted to incorporate it into the session, but it had some pink in it (boys + pink = not a great idea!) but I love this one even more.
