I LOVE love.

February 8, 2010

I mean, I love the real thing. Love that you can see in a photo… and I can see it all over these.

When this beautiful mom contacted me for the maternity/newborn session, she said she really wanted to capture the love the 3-1/2 of them have for each other, rather than focusing on a lot of maternity shots of herself, but little did she know how easy they would make my job. Their home was like a ready-made studio for me, huge windows with tons of beautiful light and I think I might just be doing all my sessions there from now on… ha! Kidding… sort of :)

This little girl was so much fun for me today and kept me playing all morning!

See… they aren’t pretending!

Mom said she wanted to remember her little girl with her most precious blankie. It’s the little things that we all soon forget sometimes.

This reminds me of a favorite family photo of my own that I used for my Christmas cards this year.

She has the most beautiful room and mom had the pettiskirt waiting…I think I did a cartwheel.

A new favorite of mine for sure.

Due to popular demand, I will now be offering newborn sessions in my home studio in Fairfield, PA effective immediately. Because the space is small (and because I prefer to shoot children and families outside), I will only be offering newborn session in-studio. I will still offer the Signature Newborn Package with mini-maternity and in your home newborn sessions for $200 but these in-studio only newborn sessions will be at a special session fee of $125. These sessions are being offered Tuesday and Thursday mornings only.

Please contact me for more details!

We’re hunkered down with a week’s supply of bread and milk and ready for this blizzard! I will admit that the thought of hanging out with my daughter all day sounds pretty cool… I don’t know if I’ll be saying the same thing come Sunday if I am still stuck inside though.

She humored me today with her little hat and beautiful smile (it’s hard to get a geniune smile from her lately although her fake ’say cheese’ smile I get ALL the time when I break out my camera). But this one, this one I love.

And I’m trying really hard this year to be better about capturing her being HER. Catching those little moments instead of always aiming for the perfect picture. So I am going to try more of these type of storytelling collages with her photos to put in her album this year.

I <3 her.

Sweet Sisters

February 2, 2010

The Z family just welcomed another beautiful girl to their family and I was lucky enough to take some family portraits s a family of 4 for the first time. This big sister was as sweet as sweet can be. A little wary of me at first, but by the end of the session, she was sitting in my lap and reaching out for me to hold her (no complaints here). And this little sister was truly amazing. I have never witnessed a tiny infant try to crawl… yes crawl! At just under 2 weeks old, she has mastered the scoot crawl with an amazing amount of determination. I think I see some foreshadowing into her bright future!

Thank you so much again Z family. I had a great time meeting you all!

Doll Baby

February 1, 2010

A real life doll baby she is! This is my third session with this family and I love being able to capture these awesome moments with them. She was absolutely precious for me today, squealing, and grinning from ear-to-ear the entire time. I can’t wait to see her again in a few months for her one year session!

So many of these photos have a timeless feel for me but this one looks so classic.

Speaking of classic, hahaha!

This one is super sweet to me since I also have one of her mommy pregnant with her at this very same crib, then again holding her as a newborn, and now singing a song to her at 6 months old.

…from this little cutie pie who is already 8 months old!  This is his third session with me and it has truly been a pleasure watching him go from a tiny baby ontop of a sleeping dog, to a little cowboy who fit snug in a basket, to this absolutely happy baby!

Again, all his mom’s idea here for the kiss!

Very happy to be up and moving about!

Love!!!

And then I thought he was all worn out and gave all the classic signs of being ready for a nap…

Until he suddenly sat up and did this! (no complaints here)

That story his mom was telling me about him waking up the night before at 3am to play must have really been amusing to him :)

P.S. This session fee was FREE for this family and they have a $40 referral credit ontop of that to use as well. Why? Because they’ve referred a million people to me! Okay, not a million really but I have a really generous referral program… ask me about it!

Spring is almost here! Thank goodness because I’ve got a major case of cabin fever.

I’m planning a mini-session for the first day of Spring on Saturday, March 20th at Strawberry Hill Nature Center in Fairfield, PA. I’m still working out one more key detail but I will structure these similarly to my Christmas Tree mini-sessions. All digital, 1/2 hour-45 minutes and files available for download in a week. Price is the same at $275.00.

Also a quick note to you let you know that I’m now booking for May sessions. Feb, March and April are booked. I will be taking 2 weeks off in Feb to catch up on business related things that I just didn’t get time to do when January’s bookings came so fast.

If you are interested in taking advantage of some beautiful Spring color, May is the perfect month. Don’t delay!

Happy winter!

New Baby Sister

January 24, 2010

…and an awesome new big brother!  I had been waiting for this little girl to make her entrance and wow, was she ever worth the (long!) wait.  So beautiful and so perfect for me today.  Her big brother was beaming with pride and as I expected, gave me the sweetest smiles.

IMG_1670

I had to include this next one here because both of their expressions made me smile!

Love.

Too cute for words

January 18, 2010

I love the 6-9 month age!  They are typically so happy, full of baby rolls, with little personalities emerging through… and better yet, they usually can not run away from me or crawl away from me yet!  Little Miss K was the perfect example yesterday of this.  She is so adored by her parents and well quite honestly, I adore her now too!

I have waited almost 3 years for a piggie toes shot like this!  I love everything about this, the colors, the hat, the fact that she’s in her nursery and the sweet baby girl especially.

First of all, a HUGE thank you to these wonderful parents-to-be for driving so far to meet me outside yesterday in the 20 degree cold and for not complaining at all! It WAS definitely cold but they were so happy to be together and anticipating their little one coming soon. I really love snow (I must have said it 10 times!) so much so that I planned my December wedding in hopes that I would get some, and we did! It always adds a little magic to photos. Any way, I digress here… I can’t wait to meet this little one arriving soon and I’ll be looking forward to hanging out with mom and dad again who kept me laughing the entire time!

My favorite of the day. This little courtyard with snow was pretty much untouched and I loved the privacy it gave us. IMG_9809
Come for a winter session with a chic hat, scarf mittens and I am a happy photographer. Who says maternity sessions downtown in the snowy winter isn’t gorgeous?? I love it!
